So much!

Published by an3931 under Uncategorized

Feeling a little overwhelmed but just need to keep plugging away. Just a staggering amount out there. Set up my gmail account and had a little explore. Looks like a great way to link inforomation as I often can’t remember where I saw something and this would be a much better way to manage things of interest to me and others. The teacher tube videos were interesting, made you think in other ways!

Tags and bookmarks

These would appear to simplify the search skills required and save lots of time. I’m constantly trying to remember where I saw that website or link and sorting through traditional bookmarks doesn’t always find you the info- you need key terms/words to find info quickly and share this with others.

Why the title?

Published by an3931 under Uncategorized and tagged:

Teaching is a confusing game and in some ways more confusing for those who have been doing it for sometime. All this new technology is quite challenging even for the tech savvy, and just how do you use to enhance and improve teaching and learning? We know that you can’t teach the same thing forever and we all learn differently and hence the title. The same things that worked today won’t always work tomorrow and sometimes won’t work at all.

So we need to put on a new set of glasses and open our minds. Does my teaching area lend itself to new teaching innovations? They all do, it just depends on how you use them. I’ve played with electronic portfolios in ppt. but it’s so old hat now that I have to look at tools like this or Wikis. I can see huge potential for students in my VET Construction class to contribute to an online forum and upload comments, pictures, videos etc.

As a leader within my school it’s also important to focus on good practice, being tech savvy doesn’t just make a good teacher- so what does and how do we get teachers there?
